Gypsy Market and "Paint the Porch Pink!"

Join us on Sunday, June 5th, between 2-4:30 and help support Riverton's Porch Club breast cancer walk

There will be a lot of activities going on for the whole family ....

This family-friendly event includes a 3-mile (approximately 5K) walk, live music, refreshments, raffles, jugglers, balloons and face and hair-painting. Unique to this walk are the designated Pink Porches that dot the route, where walkers can stop to enjoy a variety of pink refreshments and live music. Cost: $25.00 adults, receive a commemorative T-shirt; $5 children ages 6 to 12 accompanied by an adult, children 5 and under no charge. All children will receive a free pink balloon.Register online at:

You may also register the day of the walk!

What's Up For the Month of May ...

We've been busy doing some spring cleaning around the Gypsy Market ... getting ready for Riverton's yearly "Treasure Days" that is happening this Saturday May 7th.

If you love to search yard sales, garage sales and flea markets, Treasure Day is a town-wide event that you don't want to miss ... over a hundred yard sales ... you can find anything you desire at the most desirable prices!! Including what you've had your eye on at our market.

We will be open for a brief period of time on Saturday, May 7th ... the early bird will definitely be the one to catch the worm here ... look for our goods, displayed outside in front of the storefront, from 8am ~ 12 noon ONLY!!

We will have some serious finds with tremendous markdowns from the gypsy market and from our own homes. We will be open inside as well.

We need ALL the room we can get to set up for this month's official market.

We were honored to share a birthday girls getaway weekend with these two pretties, Melissa and Jean ...

They stayed in a local B&B ... shopped the market {trust me, they SHOPPED the market!} ... and had a wonderful dinner in town ... that's the way to do it!! We hope to see you back before next year's celebration ; )

This past month's barn markets have kicked our gypsy butts! Two weekends in a row, plus another off site show thrown in, a party, and sweltering heat and humidity makes for two exhausted gypsy gals !!

What makes it all worth it?

The extreme fun in shopping for and creating new vignettes ... Hanging out with the most awesome customers ... YOU!! ... this is one thing we are most surprised about our new barn adventure ... making new friends that come to visit us EACH month ... talk about feeling special!

THANK YOU !!

I managed to catch one of the many laughs we had on film ... a couple of gals barn shopping in a mini cooper ... and buying furniture ... and trying to make it fit ... the one cutie is Gina from "Vintage junk in my trunk", Gina, seriously? ... girlfriend, you're gonna need a bigger trunk !!

But we still love ya just the same!

They did it! ... and those smiles tell the whole story ... girlfriends having fun!

So, what's next? The next barn market is Saturday, August 21st, 9-3 ... yup, only one market day in August and it will be our summer clearance sale ... mark your calendars ladies you'll not want to miss shopping the upcoming sales.

In the mean time we are taking some time off from the barn to enjoy our families and summer ...

Last weekend's market was on FIRE !! ... seriously, on FIRE ... with temps in the high 80's and the humidity even higher in the 90's ... it was hot, hot, HOT ... however, so was the SHOPPING and well, we may be biased ... but, we think our customers are the "hottest'' yet .... thank you to everyone who braved melting and came out for some fab shopping at the Gypsy Barn Market this past weekend ... here's a little pictorial "re-cap"....

Hopefully you had a chance to meet "Jill" {Beth's "other" friend Jill} our new accountant and fashionista, displaying both talents ... bookkeeping and a new way to wear a gypsy scarf!

Another perfect Barn Market weekend ... well, perfect in every way except {again!} Mother Nature ... looks like if there is going to be a Gypsy Barn Market, there is also going to be rain ... doesn't seem to hamper anyone's spirits or desire to shop, here are some snap shots of this past weekend's fun ....

We were so pleased to see our friend Kecia .... she brought with her close friend, Jane, {actually, Jane arrived first, introduced herself, while poor Kecia was struggling with her GPS and showed up only a few moments behind Jane} What fun these two are, can't you just see it in their eyes? Can't wait to hang out with you girls some more ... I feel good times comin' on ; )

Thank you for making the trip down to see us!!

Two more sweet girls with attitude .... Trish and Maureen ... repeat Barn Market offenders from Philadelphia ... it's a pleasure to see your smiling faces each month!! Trish even drug her hubby {with pick up truck} back on Sunday in the pouring rain to "shrink wrap" her purchase and drive it home ... now that's what I call a man in love .... {ANY men listening OUT THERE?}

Soaps are always in demand ... yummy in every way!

If you can't make the market, you can pick up a few here ... sorry you can't smell them over the web, but I can tell you they are ALL delicious!

Ruffled and tattered gypsy scarves were a hit this month ... I'm working on a new batch this week ... they will soon be listed here.

I've saved one of our favorite moments for last ... check out this little guy ... all decked out in his Sunday best ... tan linen pants, white shirt, and leather shoes .... not a spot, speckle, or smudge on him ... but a very, VERY tempting rain puddle just begging to be explored ... can you only imagine what is running thru his head right now??

YEP ... He did it! Way to go little guy !! What fun! Where's Mom, you ask? In the barn shopping, having her own field day ... was she upset? Absolutely NOT ... the lengths we Mother's will go to just to have a moment of peaceful shopping ... this guy was quite happy for a long time in his puddle of joy!

I didn't get a picture of shoppers extraordinaire, Bridget from Long Island, NY ... or Michelle from Trenton ... too busy loading up trucks with goodies to take pictures ... I'll get you next time girls!

Holy Cow!! We did it ... the Barn Market went off without a hitch this weekend, well ... except for Mother Nature throwing in the rain for Sunday ... but she did bless us with a gorgeous day Saturday!

Thank you to everyone who came out to shop the Gypsy Barn, we hope you enjoyed your trip and can't wait to see you again next month ...

A special thank you and Gypsy hugs and kisses to our families who have given us ALL of their unconditional support ... pitched in a hand, without complaint ... and gave us All the encouragement we needed!! We COULD NOT have done this without YOU ; )

Our first customer ... isn't she sweet on her bike complete with market basket? This is Joanne, one of our biggest supporters and this lady took such good care of us ... hot coffee, freshly baked scones, a platter of finger sandwiches ... having a market behind a lovely tearoom has lovely perks ; )

I don't have a picture of Phyllis ... I'll catch her next time ... she is our terrific landlady and owner of the New Leaf Tearoom ... her help in our venture has been invaluable ... She gets all the little details perfect for us, like complimentary tea and coffee for our customers, signs, and a private potty!! ... Thank you!!

Today was the beginning of some serious, let's get down and dirty, gypsy barn business !!

The doors were opened ...

Our trucks were loaded ... fine example of "junk in the trunk" ...

What to do with twenty ugly metal gray shelves ??

and

florescent lighting ??

Bring on the muslin, lace, gauze, canvas, and our favorite burlap ...

start wrappin' Beth!

Shelves are starting to 'disappear' and I bet you can't even see the light fixture ... I think we kinda have a beach cabana feeling going on ...

today we choked on dirt and dust ... sucked up bugs with the shop vac ... swept ... sneezed and laughed,

hung 15 x 15 canvas drop cloths and had many 'design discussions' ...

Tomorrow ... we will do the same, plus ...

run the electrical wires ... string twinkle lights ... and arrange the above architectural features.

Can you believe we are still smiling?
